New Year, New Website

New Pennian banking website launch

On February 16, 2023, we will be launching a brand-new website with some noticeable changes. One of the biggest will be our switch from pennianbank.com to pennian.bank.

Why the switch? Our main reason is your security. Here are a few frequently asked questions on why we are making the change.

What is .BANK?

Like .gov or .edu, .bank is a gated domain, but for verified banks. Replacing .com, which can be purchased by anyone, with .bank, verifies that the website is from our bank. That means you can be confident that you are interacting with Pennian Bank.

How is .BANK more secure?

All banks verified and authenticated by fTLD, the .bank administrator, prior to using the .bank domain. It’s also reverified on an annual basis. This ensures everyone with a .bank domain is an eligible organization. Hackers and cyber criminals can’t obtain a .bank address to create lookalike domains for phishing and spoofing.

Are there additional security measures?

All banks using the .bank domain must implement additional security requirements. These requirements protect us and you, our customers, from phishing, spoofing and cyber attacks.

Do I need to do anything differently now that you are pennian.bank?

Our website URL will now end in .bank (https://www.pennian.bank). From now on, please verify that you are looking for the .bank at the end of our web address.

Our pennianbank.com address will forward to our new pennian.bank site, however you should update any part of our website that you have bookmarked.

Are you changing email addresses?

Yes. On February 16, 2023, our email address extensions will also change from pennianbank.com to pennian.bank. Emails will still be forwarded for a period of time, but please update your contacts accordingly.

Why haven’t all banks moved to .BANK?

The move to .bank is a decision every bank must make, plan for and is based on priorities and resources. We have decided it’s a priority for us to enhance our security and provide our customers with the easiest way to authenticate you are interacting with Pennian Bank.
